BusPatrol chose Hauppauge as their new Long Island home for the firm’s school-bus camera effort. The space was designed as a hub for community members interested in transportation issues and signals the tech firm’s successful launch of the cameras on Long Island.
SPECTOR’s design calls for an open collaborative area, with minimal offices on the perimeter. Due to the lack of private offices, phone booths and lockers were provided for more private space and activities such as meetings, phone calls and one-on-one gatherings. The entire space is anchored by a large meeting/conference room that doubles as a training room with flexible table configurations. There is also Mondrian designed millwork displaying the evolution of Bus Patrol’s AI product line.
A large open Bistro functions as a gathering space that also provides more intimate seating areas for one-on-one casual meetings. This space accesses a wraparound roof terrace for additional social gatherings and events. Spectacular views of Long Island are seen from the terrace.
Bus Patrol’s colors, artwork and graphics were infused in the space through signage, materials and millwork that were used throughout. The whimsical front desk and brightly vinyl wrapped lockers set the tone for an exciting experience. This location was a budget oriented first build out that will be used as the blueprint for all future offices.
